At Gefen Travel, we consider that the safety and health of our travelling groups is of paramount importance. 

Our relevant policies are outlined in this document and should be read and understood alongside any mandatory risk assessment and industry standard safety and health documents pertinent to your school regulations and of your governing bodies.

Gefen Travel Ltd considers the provision of a safe and secure environment for our touring groups to be of paramount importance and our company policy has been compiled in association with our suppliers in order that all stages and destinations of our itineraries have the same sharp focus on professional behaviour, risk management and participant safety.

We exhibit our commitment to these policies by the selection of excursion, transport and accommodation suppliers who demonstrate strict adherence to all relevant safety and health legislation and industry codes of practice. Through post-tour analysis and seasonal overviews we update safety policies whenever appropriate, ensuring Gefen Travel staff are kept up-to-date with amended practices and improved service delivery requirements. Management and staff are also subject to ongoing training that enables them to react promptly and effectively should the need ever arise.

While most activities carry a degree of inherent risk, group leaders must ensure that any excursion or activity is age-appropriate, and suits the abilities and size of their group. Gefen Travel does not accept any responsibility for any arrangements made outside of the provided itinerary.

Tour Activity and Event Providers
Gefen Travel acts as a booking agent for various excursion providers and event operators and we undertake to ensure wherever applicable, that we select tour, activity and event suppliers who demonstrate strict adherence to all relevant safety and health legislation and industry codes of practice.

If Gefen Travel receives a formal complaint about any of our excursion providers we will contact them within 7 days of receiving the complaint and respond to the complainant within 14 days.

Accommodation Providers
Gefen Travel acts as a booking agent for accommodation suppliers and we undertake to ensure wherever applicable, that we select accommodation suppliers who demonstrate strict adherence to all relevant safety and health legislation and industry codes of practice including but not limited to a current and valid fire certificate, fire insurance,  licenses  or operating certificates, hygiene certificates and public liability insurance.

Road Transport Providers
Gefen Travel acts as a booking agent for transport suppliers and we undertake to ensure wherever applicable, that we select transport suppliers who demonstrate strict adherence to all relevant safety and health legislation and industry codes of practice including but not limited to a current and valid operating license, public liability and motor vehicle insurance. We also request, wherever possible that buses have fitted seatbelts and that emergency exits are clearly noted prior to departure. In the event of a breakdown, all road transport supply companies must have a contingency plan.

Air Transport Providers
Gefen Travel acts as a booking agent for transport suppliers and we undertake to ensure wherever applicable, that we select transport suppliers who demonstrate strict adherence to all relevant safety and health legislation and industry codes of practice including but not limited to strict international and independently set safety standards.

Emergency Procedures
To ensure a rapid and comprehensive response by Gefen Travel should an emergency situation arise,  we require the emergency contact details of all group leaders and supervising staff, their next of kin and of the parents and guardians of each group member to be supplied to us prior to the tour commencement. Gefen Travel also provides a 24 hour emergency contact number for your peace of mind.
